Building-2011

The board of governors or members of the Gerup Primary school have been active all through out 2011. With in their capacity they have managed to complete a classroom and two teachers houses which were permanent buildings. One caution is the use of school subsidy by the school administration. Annually the Ministry of Education allocate funds for infrastructure development of schools These funds are to be used to build classrooms, teachers houses, market house for selling of food by mothers, science laboratories, libraries, student rest houses. For last year along the funds were tightly expended. Alot of the funds are used for the transportation between Finschafen and Sialum (Nanda). Freight from Lae to Finschafen are reasonable. From Nanda to Gerup primary school area the parents and citizens of the school contribute labor by carrying the materials to Gerup Primary School.

The next building that is really a need to be constructed is the science laboratory. Currently, the students do not have a library to read books from. The board has planned for one such building on the school ground. Even it lacks a science laboratory facility their students to learn basic science.
